U-21s Lost To CSKA
Lokomotiv youth squad suffered a defeat to CSKA in Gameweek 10 match of the Russian championship.
Lokomotiv juniors' line-up for the game against CSKA brought no new names but Dmitriy Barinov - earlier this week he had made his debut as the first team starter in the Cup match against Torpedo FC Armavir.
The first half passed with both sides creating but a few notable opportunities. In one of them, Zhemaletdinov tried to break through the Armymen’s defense on the wing. Galanin kept dodging around rivals, yet didn’t go as far as pose serious threats to their goal. The shot by Gordyushenko on 35 minutes did not look promising either, until his ball found the net slipping right under Lantratov’s arm.
For the second half our coaches decided to refresh play, bringing on a number of new players. And Smirnov, who had replaced Kipiani, could have evened the odds but hit the woodwork. As the half neared the end, Lokomotiv put on pace and virtually stormed the target in the last minutes. Nevertheless, Smirnov’s attempt remained the only real chance of the Railroaders until the final whistle
Late into the half, the other side found a hole in Lokomotiv defense and counter-attacked with Ferapontov capitalizing on one-on-one with the goalie. In injury time Chernov scored from a penalty kick. 3:0 – victory for the Armymen
