Victorious Finish

Lokomotiv youth team have beaten Zenit in their last game of the season.

A year ago, on May 20, 2016 Lokomotiv youth squad won their second-ever title. This season hasn't been that glorious but why wouldn't we give a champions battle to Zenit? On 11 minutes Lokomotiv opened the score through Dorofeyev who picked up the ball on the edge of the penalty are and sent it right into the corner.

Eleven minutes later Anton Miranchuk could have doubled the lead but his mid-range attempt hit the post. Anyway, another 11 minutes on Lokomotiv scored a second goal. Tugarev centered from a wing and had a go at the upper corner.

Early in the second half, Zenit pushed hard to get back into the game and made the difference minimal again through Denisov who was quick enough in the mess in front of the goal and managed to take a shot. Then came a period of tranquillity. Zenit had the initiative but weren't willing to send all men forward. Lokomotiv were waiting for their chance to counter - and their patience was awarded. Dorofeyev made a perfect pass to Rybchinskiy who found himself one-on-one and used the chance.

A great finish by the team. Very soon a new season starts. Looking forwaard to seeing the youngsters in the main squad.
