Nikolay Kipiani Winner Of Granatkin Memorial
Russia national U-17 team (players born before 1997) have won the 2015 Granatkin Memorial international tournament that took place in St Petersburg.
In the final game, Sergey Kiryakov's guys beat South Korea 2:1.
Unfortunately, Lokomotiv youth team forward Nikolay Kipiani who played a key role in the team's performance throughout the tournament had to miss this game due to an illness. However, he became one of the best forwards of the competition and rightfully got his gold medal. We congratulate Nikolay on this achievement!
Besides, Lokomotiv 1998 players Georgiy Makhatadze, Ivan Galanin, Artyom Galadzhan and Mikhail Lysov took part in the game against Kazakhstan to dispute the 17th standing. Being the youngest team of the tournament, our guys won 4:2.
Makhatadze score an opener from a spot kick, which was also his third goal in the competition, and was named the best player of the match.
Today the guys are coming back to the youth team campus.
