Drawing with Ural
Lokomotiv youngsters have drawn with Ural in Gameweek 29 of the Russian Championship.
Lokomotiv travelled to Yekaterinburg for their last away fixture. We have no more hopes of finishing third in the Youth League, but winning matches is not off the agenda. Midway into the first half, the public were witnessing two equal teams. The opponents played a close and tight game creating almost nothing in the attacking third.
In ties like that, chances of breaking through may come via an exceptional moment of brilliance. On 34 minutes Dorofeyev demonstrated an extraordinary piece of skill when he back-heeled the ball to Galadzhan to put him clean through on goal. The latter did not miss.
However, Ural cancelled Loko’s lead soon. Three minutes to the end of the first half, Yusupov turned in a cross from the left flank.
At half-time, Denis Klyuev made four substitutions at once and in a short while brought on Tugarev as well. From then on, Roman posed the main threat for the Ural goal. He fired a free kick against the crossbar, and soon after attempted a shot from five meters’ distance but the keeper stretched to claw the ball out. At yet another time, our player carved out a marvelous opportunity for his team when he managed to take the ball past several opposition players and pass it into space: unfortunately, no one was there to make the last touch – the score remained 1:1.
Our next match, scheduled for May 20 at Perovo, will be against Zenit. It will kick off at 12:00.
