Morning Victory

For the first time in many months, Brazilian goalkeeper and captain Guilherme guided his teammates onto the pitch.

The Railwaymen started off as favourites in the clash and could have taken the lead early. Aleksey Miranchuk launched a spectacular attack but Arshak Koryan was a bit unlucky finishing it.

Very soon Aleksey acted himself. Defender Aleksandr Seraskhov intercepted the ball on the wing and passed it to Maicon who foxed an opponent and rolled to Miranchuk. The youngster made a false kick to shake off a marker and took a shot that turned an opener.

Ten minutes later the Malaga keeper saw the ball behind his back again but the referee flagged an offside when Maicon headed home after Aleksey Miranchuk's pass.

Lokomotiv should have improved the lead by the end of the half but every time lacked just a bit. In one episode, Koryan wasn't accurate enough when blasting a shot, and later Maksim Grigoryev failed to send home.

In the half time Malaga B made many substitutions trying to break the run of play. At first it looked like they could succeed but very soon ran out of gas again and Grigoryev finally made it. He missed his first opportunity but scored a minute later. Koryan passed to Miranchuk from the centre who ran onto the goal with Grigoryev and assisted.

Aleksey Miranchuk was the leader in the pitch. He made several good interceptions, great passes and set up for his partners who could have scored more.

Lokomotiv had control over the game and secured a victory. In the evening we are tested by Djurgårdens IF from Sweden.
