Batrakov leaves Lokomotiv and joins Galatasaray
FC Lokomotiv Moscow player Alexey Batrakov has officially joined Galatasaray S. K. The clubs have reached an agreement on the transfer of midfielder for a record fee for the Lokomotiv team.
Alexey is a trainee of the Lokomotiv Academy, having been with our club for 15 years since 2011. The midfielder began to shine at a young age: he had numerous goals and assists. He also won championships with the UFL-2 team (2021/22) and with the youth team (2023/24), was the top assists player in the UFL and Youth Leagues, and was named MFL Player of the Season-2023. He was a leader and captain in every team he played for.
Batrakov's talent and skill have not gone unnoticed: he has been invited to train with the main team since 2023. Alexey made his debut for the main squad on March 31, 2024, in a 1-1 draw with Krasnodar in the 22nd round of the Russian Premier League at the RZD Arena.
The Russian national team called up the young player that same year. Batrakov made his first appearance for the Russian national team on November 15, 2024, in a friendly match against Brunei (11-0), immediately scoring his debut goal. Incidentally, the midfielder played 12 matches for the national team, scoring four goals and providing three assists.
At the end of 2024, he won the 22nd annual national "First Five" award, which is presented to the best young player (under 21) in RPL based on the results of the calendar year. Out of 105 experts, 98 named Batrakov the best young player.
Batrakov was Lokomotiv's leading scorer and assist provider in the league for the past two seasons — 2024/25 and 2025/26.
In his first full season (2024/25), Alexey was not only one of the best players on Lokomotiv's roster, but also in the entire league. In the 2024/25 Russian Premier League, Batrakov played 29 of 30 matches, scoring 14 goals and providing 7 assists. He was the first one by goals + assists and finished third as a league top goalscorer.
In the 2025/26 Russian Premier League, Batrakov had 13 goals and 10 assists. This made him the tournament's second-highest scorer and the league's second-highest assist provider.
Batrakov also became the first Lokomotiv player in the 21st century to score more than 10 goals in two consecutive seasons. He also became the first player in the club's history to score a hat-trick against Spartak (August 9, 2025, 4-2 win).
The club's active fans also recognized the young player's achievements, naming him Lokomotiv's Player of the Season for two years in a row, presenting him with two "Steel Rail" awards.
The Russian football community twice named Batrakov the league's best young player (2024/25 and 2025/26) as part of the WINLINE Heroes of the RPL award. Sport-Express and the weekly magazine "Football" named him Russia's Best Footballer of the Year-2025 (he was the youngest recipient in the award's history). He was voted for by coaches, club executives and fans.
Batrakov was also named vice-captain of the team, despite his young age, and led his teammates onto the field wearing the captain's armband on numerous occasions. Our graduate also became Lokomotiv's youngest captain in the Russian Premier League, at the age of 19 years, 10 months, and 10 days (in the 2024/25 season, in a match against Pari NN).
In total, he played in 84 matches for the Railwaymen, scored 34 goals and provided 23 assists. Alexey won bronze medals in the Russian Championship in the 2025/26 season with FC Lokomotiv.
