Lokomotiv youth team have beaten Arsenal from Tula in Gamweek 23 of the Russian championship.
After humiliating Rostov in the previous Gameweek, Lokomotiv hit the road to Tula to continue the pursuit of the title of the youth championship. The teams started off very cautiously but by the middle of the first half the Railroaders had full controll of the game, creating chances one after another. On 28 minutes the home side supporters saw the first warning sign: Tugarev broke down the flank to pass to Galadzhan who tooka shot but Arsenal's keeper Mikhail Levashov stretched to save.
Ten minutes later it was Lokomotiv's turn to worry about the scoreline. Ryzhkov crossed to the area where Rukas was the quickest and sent the ball goalwards but Miroslav Lobantsev was fine. This allowed Lokomotiv to keep a clean sheet before the break.
In half-time manager Denis Klyuev decided the squad didn't need any ajustment. In the second half, Arsenal started playing tougher - in several episodes Lokomotiv players needed doctor's assistance, and Innokentiy Samokhvalov had to ask to be substituted.
The first goal turned out to be pretty awkward: the Railroaders played a corner to the box where Islam Vagabov made full use of the general confusion and drove it into the back of the net. Islam has scored in a third consecutive game, and he does so every time he appears as a sub. After the goal the game quelled a little bit, Lokomotiv pulled back to their goal while Arsenal were trying to level, though ineffectively. Late into the game, Vagabov scored a brace netting a winner - 2:0.
