8-minute win

Compared with the game against Slask Wroclaw Slaven Bilic introduced three changes in the starting eleven. They were the young goalie Miroslav Lobantsev, and forwards Dmitry Sychev and Maicon.

Lokomotiv scored an opener already in the 5th minute. Roman Shishkin chased the ball into the box and was knocked down by a defender. The referee pointed at the spot and Denis Glushakov realized a penalty – cool and sure.

Just three minutes later the Railwaymen doubled the lead. Alexander Samedov steamed his way through the flank and passed to Victor Obinna who hammered the ball into the net.

After being given such a cold shoulder the Serbian team needed some time to pull themselves together again. Closer to the middle of the first half Tomic had two opportunities but both times missed the target.

In the 24th minute Lokomotiv could have scored again. Obinna made a wonderful pass to Maicon who ran one-on-one with Stojkovic but the Brazilian decided to move to the left and pass to the far post – alas, no one was there to send the ball home.

The Railwaymen kept the ball for most of the first half and dominated the field. From time to time Lobantsev got some work to do, too, but he was okay that day.

In the half-time, both coaches made several substitutions, though they didn’t influence the overall balance of power. Lokomotiv still looked better than Partizan although the Serbs made some dangerous raids into Loko’s defence lines. In the 55th minute Vukic shot from a very dangerous position but Lobantsev deflected the shot in a spectacular jump.

In the 62nd minute the long-awaited appearance of Loko’s newcomer Vedran Corluka happened. This game became his debut in the red-green jersey. But the Croatian international didn’t have many opportunities to show his skill, as most of the remaining time Lokomotiv spent on the opposite part of the field.

The Railwaymen tried out different combinations and sometimes managed to fool Partizan’s defenders. The tastiest combination happened in the 72nd minute when Renat Yanbaev got the ball on his flank after several short and quick passes, and passed to Maxim Grigoriev. But Maxim’s shot was stopped by a defender.

Lokomotiv kept storming Partizan’s goal till the very end, Senijad Ibricic had two opportunities but the score didn’t change.

Lokomotiv beat Serbian champion 2:0 and is now waiting for the Turkish “Bursaspor” – this game will be the last at this training camp.
