First Home Victory

In the first minutes, the most notorious figure in a red-green jersey was Andrey Eschenko. Loko’s Number 50 covered the entire flank working well both in defence and in attack. One of his crosses proved dangerous when Roman Pavlyuchenko managed a good header, missing just a little.

Well into the first half the Railwaymen played a perfect combo: Roman Shishkin carried the ball along the touchline, passed to Denis Glushakov who immediately passed to Pavlyuchenko. Surrounded by opponents, SuperPav nevertheless scored, sending the ball sharply to the lower corner of the goal.

Six minutes later, Krylya’s player Tsallagov threatened Loko’s goal. Having entered the box he shot but the ball found Vedran Corluka.

Early in the second half, Lokomotiv was close to doubling the score. Shishkin centered to Maicon in the box but a defender hampered the Brazilian. In that episode, Maicon fell down but the referee was okay with it.

Lokomotiv was dominating every inch, and soon scored again. Felipe Caicedo, just off the bench, received the ball in the box, feinted a defender and rolled the ball to the far corner.

Inspired by this success, the Railwaymen became unstoppable. In the 74th minute Pavlyuchenko was close to scoring his second goal in the game. Again, Shishkin centered and SuperPav was the first to get the ball but his strike only shook the crossbar. Two minutes later Glushakov’s mid-range shot went a bit higher.

In the 84th minute Caicedo had a fat chance. Maicon made a perfect pass to the Ecuadorian who rounded the keeper and shot but defender Epuryanu cleared the ball at the very goal line.  

Lokomotiv kept pressing the opponents till the very final whistle securing the first home victory in the regular championship.
