Lokomotiv back from vacation
On June 13, Lokomotiv’s main team went through a medical check – first after returning from vacation. A part of the team gathered in the Clinic of the Sports Medicine. The Russian players returned to Moscow first, while foreign players are going to return tomorrow and will go straight to the clinic.
The players who met for the first time since mid-May were full of stories which they shared with each other. A month away from Moscow had a positive influence both on psychological and physical condition of the Railwaymen: everyone seems to be in good mood, fresh and sun-tanned. Dmitry Sychev turned into a mulatto, while Renat Yanbaev was less lucky – the defender came back burnt by the southern sun.
Euro-2012 became the buzz word among the players. The game between Russia and Poland was nervous but the common opinion is that Russia's performance at this tournament will be a success. In other words, the guys are ready to wait for Denis Glushakov and Roman Pavlyuchenko a bit longer.
Besides a visit to the therapist the Railwaymen went through a mini-screening process. The players visited the ENT, ophtalmologist, dentist and psychotherapist, who tested their coordination and reaction. The programme was concluded by the traditional treadmill test. Although these tests can be done at Lokomotiv’s base, the team decided to speed up the process by using the outsourced facility.
The check indicated the players’ condition is optimal for the start of the season. The Railwaymen will hold the first practice at their base in Bakovka, just off Moscow, on Friday and will play their first game against Lokomotiv-2 next day.
