Lokomotiv Lost To Amkar

Compared to the game in Rostov-on-Don Slaven Bilic made one change in the starting eleven. Instead of the benched Victor Obinna the manager preferred the recovered Roman Pavlyuchenko.

The Railwaymen possessed the ball from the very beginning and had a big chance to score in the very first attack. Dame N’doye broke into the visitors’ box but his shot was blocked by the defenders.

Amkar replied in four minutes. A rapid counter attack ended up in a powerful strike by Ignatovich but Dario Kresic showed his best skill and blocked it.

Loko had another opportunity to capitalize on their possession in the 20th minute. N’doye headed the ball goalwards only just above the crossbar.

Amkar bet on the counterattacking football, the tactics that proved effective. In the 25th minute Peev hammered the ball into the back of the net from the edge of the box.

With the visitors’ in the lead, Lokomotiv increased the speed. Amkar couldn’t hold it and conceded in the 36th minute. Andrey Eschenko crossed into the box and Pavlyuchenko headed the ball into the net putting Loko back into the game.

Just four minutes later Pavlyuchenko could have scored a second header. Reto Ziegler played a cross and Roman sent the ball just inches wide.

In the beginning of the second half Ziegler’s another cross could turn an assist. Dmitry Tarasov timed his jump well and shot a header but needed to be more precise.

In the 58th minute Bilic boosted up attack with Felipe Caicedo. The Ecuadorian entered the game actively: first time on the ball, he struck but the shot was inaccurate. Minutes on, Caicedo crossed to N’doye who shot at the corner but Narubin parried.

In the 70th minute Loko again had a chance. Samedov played a low cross to the far post but no one managed to finish it.

To put up even more pressure on Amkar’s goal, Slaven Bilic launched Victor Obinna into the field.

Loko shut off the opponents completely and could have scored in the 80th minute. Ziegler crossed into the box and several Railwaymen shot at the goal in a row but all of them failed to score. This pushed up the emotions so high that a small quarrel happened after the referee’s blow and Caicedo and Narubin got booked.

Glushakov, Caicedo and Eschenko tried their luck from dangerous positions but every time either the defenders or the keeper got in the way. In the extra time N’doye carried the ball along the box and got knocked down. The referee gave a free kick but Samedov curled the ball both over the wall and the crossbar.

Hurrying to score Loko bared his backs and Amkar managed to capitalize on one of the very few chances they had. In a counterattack, Peev shook the woodwork but Pikuschak managed to work the ball and net it.

Obinna shot at the goal in the last seconds and Narubin parried the ball again.

Loko had been attacking throughout the game but conceded two counterattacks which was enough for their rivals. 1:2, home defeat.
