The game on opposite courses
Match in Brussels started from minute of silence. Anderlecht sustained two losses for the last time: team administrator, who had been working in the club more than 20 years, and former player of purples Hippolit Vanden Bos died. Moreover, the memory of Liege tragedy victims was being honoured on Constant Vanden Stock.
There were several players in the line-up of Lokomotiv, who had a lack of practice during the season. Andrey Ivanov and Branko Ilic were being put on the wings of defense, Anton Amelchenko occupied the place in the goal and Alexander Minchenkov found himself in the attack.
According to promises of Jose Couceiro on prematch press conference, the game from the first minute became to go on opposite courses. The first scoring chance in the match was being created by home team. Gillet shot from the medium distance and Amelchenko in a beautiful jump forwarded the ball to the corner.
Lokomotiv answered ten minutes later. Maicon burst into the penalty area and found himself in a very good position, but his shot was too weak.
The next scoring chance in Anderlecht penalty area finished with the goal. Ignatiev received the ball after excellent pass from Andrey Ivanov, tricked defender and forwarded the ball to the net!
In the second part of the half both teams had scoring chances, but only Anderlect scored. Kljestan and Fernando lighted their surnames on the screen.
In the second half the picture of the game was the same. Both teams spent most of the time in attacks, but Belgians had more luck in realization of scoring chances. They scored three more goals, at the same time as railwaymen scored twice – Sychev did it in both cases.
Unfortunately Lokomotiv didn`t score more though it continued to attack even in the additional time. Our team suffered an annoying defeat, but it`s impossible to blame the players for absence of right mood and desire for win.
