Ten goals in two games!

The tactics was clear from the first minutes. The Railwaymen controlled the ball and kept attacking the opposing goal, making the Portuguese set an all-round defence. After 30 minutes Lagos players got tired of such a game and Dmitry Tarasov nearly fell victim to their aggression. The Lagos player Cubala tripped Loko’s midfielder but Dmitry was lucky to avoid an injury.  The two were about to fight and the coaches had to step in and calm down their players.

Lokomotiv’s only option to respond to the misconduct was to score. And they did it! Dmitry Torbinsky made a fantastic pass to Dmitry Sychev who was left one-on-one with the goalkeeper and used the chance to score an opener. Just six minutes later Torbinsky himself scored, nodding the ball into the net after Sychev’s wonderful cross.

In half-time Jose Couceiro made four substitutions. One the substitutions was striker Roman Pavlyuchenko who made his first appearance for Lokomotiv.

The Russian international was very active and in the 51st minute earned a penalty which was scored by Senijad Ibricic.

In less than three minutes the couple was there for another goal! Pavlyuchenko entered the penalty area from the right flank and crossed to the Bosnian international who volleyed the ball into the net. 4:0!

Despite the obvious superiority The Railwaymen didn’t stop and scored twice before the final whistle. Dmitry Tarasov kicked the ball into the very corner of the goal in the 70th minute. Towards the end of the game, Victor Obinna used the Portuguese goalkeeper’s mistake to score a winner. 6:0.

After crushing victories over Atletico from Lisbon and Lagos the Railwaymen have demonstrated a brilliant result: 10 goals in 180 minutes!
