Spectacular Draw

Lokomotiv have played in their last friendly during the Austrian training camp. This time their opponent was FC Qarabag from Agdam, Azerbaijan.

The weather has been far from optimum on the game days. It was hot when Loko beat Ludogorets, and it was even hotter during the clash with Qarabag.

It explains why there was almost no movement in the first half. In the 20th minute Qarabag set up a short storm of Lokomotiv’s third, shooting from a distance several times. At Lokomotiv, Alexey Miranchuk played actively and often became the epicentre of the Railwaymen’s offensives. Despite the slow movement, both teams scored in the first half. Maicon passed to Alan Kasaev who sent it home, and just minutes later Reynaldo netted masterfully from a set piece about 30 metres away from the goal.

In the second half Igor Cherevchenko brought in some fresh blood but that failed to somehow boost the play. The next effective attempt came almost half-an-hour later. Lokomotiv played a corner, Mykhalyk passed the ball to Tarasov who hammered it in.

And again Qarabag leveled quickly. An attacker centered to Mamedov who rolled the ball towards the goal, past Kochenkov. Yanbaev tried to clear it from the line but failed.

That was Lokomotiv’s last game in Austria. On July 12th the Railwaymen are going to St Petersburg to contest for the SuperCup with the local Zenit.
