Fifteen Shades Of Red-Green
The day before the clash with Lokomotiv, Strømsgodset had been tested by CSKA Moscow and lost. Exhausted by the game, the club failed to bring their best squad onto the pitch and were forced to call their reserve team players and some stranger footballers from local amateur clubs whereas Lokomotiv dispatched their strongest men.
The striking difference in quality became obvious as soon as the game started. In the seventh minute Magomed Ozdoyev launched the first effective offensive where Roman Pavlyuchenko received the ball in the box and sent it home fist touch.
Seven minutes later Lokomotiv were granted a spot-kick. Roman Shishkin ran down the wing and centered but a Norwegian defender handplayed in the box. Aleksandr Samedov was cool from the spot.
The Norwegians still couldn't do a thing about scoring while the Railwaymen improved their lead. Samedov assisted to Boussoufa who made no mistake.
Soon Lass Diarra made a spectacular solo break up the centre and assisted to Pavlyuchenko who scored the fourth goal. Moments on, SuperPav netted a hat-trick when Boussoufa assisted the forward.
Here Lokomotiv decided to have mercy on their weaker opponents and secured the score to the half time. But when the new top 11 reappeared after the break, they were merciless. Maksim Grigoryev, Dame N'Doye and Maicon looked like they had been starving for football for years and tore the Norwegians' back-four apart.
Five goals from N'Doye, a poker by Grigoryev, Maicon's four assists and a goal by Aleksey Miranchuk - this is enough to illustrate who were the predators that day. In the second half, almost any of Lokomotiv's attack proved effective.
When N'Doye scored a winner with a teasing chip-shot over the keeper in the 85th minute, the referee decided it was time to put a stop to this humiliation and blew for an end.
On February 27, Lokomotiv will play two more friendlies against the local Real Balompedica Linense and Mølde from Norway.
