On May 14 the Lokomotiv Stadium will host a friendly to mark the impressive career of Vadim Evseev who is retiring from football this year.
The defender has given more than fifteen years to the Russian football and has become Six Times Russian Champion and Four Times Russian Cup Winner playing for Spartak and Lokomotiv. Vadim played for Team Russia from 1999 to 2005 where he made 21 appearances and scored one goal. But this one goal he sent into the net of Team Wales helped Russians make it to the Euro-2004 in Portugal and Evseev became one of the most well-known Russian players.
Lokomotiv is one of the most modern and well-equipped stadiums in Russia. The 29,000 all-seater is home to comfort and security which make every event unforgettable.
This time, two teams will oppose each other – “World Team” and “Vadim Evseev and the Friends”. They will consist of the Russian and world football stars of the past and the present. The players who have confirmed their participation are: Samuel Eto’O (Cameroon), Ryan Giggs (Wales), Branislav Ivanovic (Serbia), Sergei Rebrov (Ukraine), and Dmitry Alenichev, Valery Karpin, Sergei Semak and others (all from Russia). The world stars will be opposed by “Vadim Evseev and the Friends” that will call up the former and the current players of FC Lokomotiv like Vladimir Maminov, Oleg Pashinin, Sergei Ignashevich, Dmitry Sychev, Roman Pavlyuchenko etc.
