Three Goals and Third Victory
Very early in the game Lokomotiv managed several dangerous attacks that could have produced some goals. In the second minute Felipe Caicedo was close to breaking one on one with the keeper but the last defender cleared the danger. Later, Roman Shishkin ran down the wing and crossed to the box where Denis Glushakov tried to strike but Terek's defenders hampered him.
Loko's central backs were extremely reliable. Vedran Corluka and Jan Durica did not allow anyone get close to Dario Cresic's goal. Dmitry Tarasov and Ian Tigorev cemented the central midfield.
In the 17th minute Maxim Grigoriev centered to Denis Glushakov who managed an effective bicycle kick but the ball went just a fraction wide. Moreover, the referee qualified this as dangerous play against Terek's defender Komorowski and Denis was shown a yellow card.
The second part of the first half was poor in opportunities. Terek managed to push the Railwaymen off their goal but still couldn't come close to Loko's penalty area.
But shortly after the whistle signaling the start of the second half Loko's Croatian keeper had to come to rescue. Ailton managed to find an opportunity to blast from the very edge of the penalty area to the very corner. Cresic dived and managed to finger the ball.
In the 56th minute Slaven Bilic made some changes to the team and replaced Glushakov and Caicedo with Victor Obinna and Maicon.
After just five minutes on the pitch, Maicon was knocked down. Loko was given a free kick that turned into a goal. Alexander Samedov played his hallmark cross, Durica nodded to Tarasov who shot and keeper Godzyur deflected the ball. But Grigoriev was first to the ball and hammered it into the net.
Terek rushed for a quick response but all their attacks were dismantled by Loko's defence and especially by Corluka. The Croatian was great both in tackling and heading.
The last ten minutes of the game were hot for both keepers. First, Terek managed a good attack: a searching cross from the right flank failed to find a striker but the corner that followed could have been fatal for Lokomotiv. The Chechen club played a corner and Sadaev scored but the goal was cancelled as a linesman raised a flag just a moment earlier.
Using Terek's confusion to his advantage, Victor Obinna ran down the right wing and then to the centre, fooled a defender with a fake shot and blasted right into the upper corner. A marvelous goal by the Nigerian international!
Just six minutes later came the third goal and it became obvious the game was done. Obinna passed to freshman Torbinsky, Dmitry played a classy back heeler to Maicon who found free space in the box. The Brazilian forward ran one on one with the keeper and shot, setting the final score at 0:3!
These awesome and timely goals were a fatal blow to Terek. The thrashing victory took Lokomotiv to the second line in the overall league table.
