Derby Victory

The teams started off baldly, and the first danger arose at Lokomotiv's goal in the third minute. The hosts played a corner and the cross came to Dzudzak at the far post who failed to make it something interesting, being off-side.

The visitors' response came soon: Vitaliy Denisov made an interception in the middle, passed to Mbark Boussoufa who hit it first time. Dame N'Doye wanted to dispatch the ball to the back of the net, but didn't reach it.

The game went quiet for a while when Aleksandr Samedov decided to shoot from a distance, but the ball went wide. A minute later his cross could become an assist either to N'Doye or Boussoufa but didn't.

Dynamo had a real opportunity to score an opener in the end of the half. Kokorin ran away up the right flank and played a low ball to Voronin who could score be it not for Vedran Corluka who timed his tackle perfectly. A minute later, the Ukrainian did manage to score but the referee cancelled it arguing Voronin fouled at Durica.

Six minutes after the half-time, the Red-Greens scored a spectacular goal. N'Doye offered himself in the space, got a lay-off pass from a teammate, centered and shot from a 25-metre range. Gabulov tipped it but the shot was so powerful and well-placed it went into the back of the net anyway.

The host got back into the game very quickly. Lassana Diarra lost his battle on the flank, Abayev made a bad positioning mistake and couldn't break the cross. The ball went down and eventually ended up behind his back.

Enthusiastic, Dynamo rushed forward trying to thrash the Railwaymen. Once, the duo of Voronin and Kokorin rocked the defenders and Aleksandr shot at the corner but Abayev managed to react. Then, Noboa was inaccurate after a pass from Voronin. In the next episode, Igor Denisov shot just wide: the ball bounced off a post.  

Twenty minutes before the end Dynamo lost a player. N'Doye left his opponents bemused and was going to break one-on-one but Douglas preferred a professional foul to a 100% scoring opportunity. The punishment was harsh: a red card, and a penalty. Spot-kicker Samedov did his job well, making it 1:2.

Despite being outnumbered, Dynamo were not going to give it away so easily. The White-Blue earned a dangerous free kick, and Dzudzak bent it like Beckham but Abayev managed an incredible save!

A couple of minutes before the final whistle Smolov had a chance to get his team back into the game again but the ball went high.

The last-minute sub Sergey Tkachyov settled the final score. The midfielder ran up the flank, played one-two with N'Doye and rifled at the far corner - 1:3.

Thanks to this victory, Lokomotiv now stand second in the table.
