A Hollywood Scenario

The teams started off slowly, trying to tune in to the right tempo. During the first 10 minutes only a free kick from Makuszewski was potentially dangerous, but it went wide.

Soon Terek became more inventive up front and one of their attacks looked promising. Sadaev played a sharp cross to Makuszewski who was in a position to rifle but Jan Durica managed to clear, thus saving Ilia Abaev from a hard work.

The Railwaymen responded shortly. First, Dmitry Tarasov passed to Roman Pavlyuchenko on the flank, but Roman's further cross was blocked. A minute later the agile Maicon made another pass to SuperPav who couldn't reach the ball, though.

By the mid-half the visitors managed to push the play away from their goal and consequently organized a chain of rapid counterattacks. Pavlyuchenko repositioned to act as an inside, passed to Roman Shishkin who crossed on to Tarasov, but the midfielder shot wide. Minutes later Maicon set up for Pavlyuchenko who was steaming at high speed and shot at the corner but missed.

After that, Loko's Sergey Tkachyov came to the limelight. The midfielder's head found a cross by Maxim Grigoriev but the attempt was blocked by an opponent. The Railwaymen saw handplay, although the ref remained silent. A couple of minutes later Sergey earned a free kick at the touchline and played it himself. His cross came right to Roman Pavlyuchenko who stroke but only earned a corner.

Then it was Maicon again. The Brazilian lost his marker easily and crossed into the box but Gorodov managed to intercept. In the next attack, Maicon got the ball at the box, worked it for the left foot and shot but the ball went into an opponent.

The rest of the half brought no opportunities for either team but the players committed some fouls making the referee book four of them.

No substitutions were made in the half-time. Just three minutes after the whistle, Maxim Grigoriev fired at Gorodov's goal but the keeper saved.

An hour into the game, the Raiwaymen managed another counter-attack. Pavlyuchenko worked the ball with his chest, passing to Tkachyov. The midfielder turned around and kicked but missed the target.

With half-an-hour remaining, Leonid Kuchuk made his first substitution, Alexander Samedov replaced Maxim Grigoriev. Ten minutes later, another sub came out, him being forward Felipe Caicedo.

Minutes before that the Railwaymen had a real chance to score. Defender Vitaly Denisov ran ahead with the ball right to the opposing byline and centered dangerously but nobody was there to finish off.

The freshman Caicedo could have assisted in the very first attack he participated in. Denisov made a throw-in to the Equadorian who headed it further to Shishkin but the speeding defender's kick lacked precision.

Soon after that, Caicedo had a chance to make up for his teammate. Tkachyov got the ball on the edge of the box and passed on to the striker who shot but missed just a fraction!

In the 88th minute Loko's manager made the final substitution: Magomed Ozdoev replaced Sergey Tkachyov, and the young talent made the impossible possible!

During the stoppage time, Magomed got the ball from Ilya Abaev, carried it along the flank and then to the box, looked around for a pass and preferred Alexander Samedov who shot right in the top corner, leaving no chance to Gorodov.

A minute later Lokomotiv could score another goal, with Terek's defenders being extremely slow, but Caicedo failed to capitalize on this advantage.

Anyway, Lokomotiv won in that tremendously nervous game and are among the top-dwellers in the table, with 10 points in 5 games.
