Manuel Fernandes Awarded Player Of The Month Prize

About a hundred Lokomotiv supporters gathered at the club museum on a Sunday morning to see Manuel Fernandes awarded the the Best Player Of The Month prize.

The fans who took part in the monthly poll named the Portuguese their favourite in October. Fernandes hauled more votes than Mbark Boussoufa, Taras Mykhalyk, Alexander Samedov and Roman Pavlyuchenko. Lokomotiv fan Andrey Dolgov won the right to award the midfielder, and wished him to score more goals at Lokomotiv.
 
- It's my first time here at the museum, - said Fernandes. - I have to say it's impressive. I know when the club was founded, and I know many players of the past. Most recently, Dmitriy Loskov was a prominent figure - his field position was close to mine an he captained the team for a long time.

It's an honour for me that the fans think I was the best last month, but anyone of my partners could be here now. I'd like to share this award with the rest of the team because our general result is more important than individual achievements.

As the tradition goes, Fernandes held a signing session and took photos with the fans.
