Lokomotiv Lost To Volga
First quarter of an hour brought four dangerous moments at Volga's goal. It started with Victor Obinna's impressive run down the flank. The Nigerian striker moved to the centre and stroke at the bottom corner but wide.
Then Roman Shishkin crossed from the right flank, Denis Glushakov headed on to his partner Dame N'Doye but the Senegalese couldn't strike properly. The next attack brought another opportunity: Victor Obinna made a great pass to Felipe Caicedo. The Ecuadorian rounded the keeper and passed on to N'Doye from the edge of the box but Dame missed just a bit.
Closer to the mid-half the visitors managed to push Loko away from their box but the Railwaymen still posessed the ball more than their opponents. The more unexpected was the goal they conceded in the 39th minute. Volga managed to capitalize on their first-ever chance in the game - Asildarov headed the ball home finishing a cross.
Lokomotiv could have scored twice before half-time. In the 41st minute Dame N'Doye crossed dangerously to the box and Maxim Grigoriev could have finished it well but missed just an inch. Three minutes later N'Doye himself could have scored but his header went a fraction wide.
In the second half, the Railwaymen were determined to change the situation. Their first attack could have resulted in a goal but Caicedo's curved ball went just off the far post. Four minutes later N'Doye shot but keeper Kerzhakov saved.
To boost up attack, Slaven Bilic made two substitutions, them being Alexander Samedov and Dmitry Sychev.
Lokomotiv literally shut Volga on their half of the ptch. N'doye could have scored twice in two minutes. But Kerzhakov was reliable.
Five miutes till the end of the game Tarasov could have scored. Dmitry tried to finish Samedov's classy cross but his header went wide.
With total domination in attempts and shots on goal, Lokomotiv have suffered an annoying defeat in their last game of the year.
