Leonid Kuchuk: "Our objective is to show thrilling play"

Loko's manager Leonid Kuchuk told the press-conference after the game against Amkar about the difficulties he had to face due to the departure of the international players, and assessed the performance of Taras Burlak, Magomed Ozdoyev and Roman Pavlyuchenko.

- What's your estimation of Taras Burlak's performance?
- Since we have won, it means he played well. I've seen some positioning mistakes but on the whole he was good.

- What's your general assessment of the team's performance? What was your objective for the game?
- Our objective is to show thrilling play. Besides, we're among the top teams on the table, and when you're among the leaders it's important to keep up with them. Amkar have impressed recently, it's one of the most well-organized teams of the Premier League, they are strong in one-on-one tackles. We had to both win these tackles and not to let them slow down the tempo. Besides if we'd have employed defensive tactics it would have raised eyebrows, so we played attacking football.

- Boussoufa was suspended. We saw three players who are defensive midfielders on the pitch. Did you have to change the formation?
- We have a whole bench of players who must be able to climb off and substitute their partners without changing the formation. We have more than twenty men, they must be able to provide the result. Ozdoyev played well, he changed his position a little bit but on the whole he was good and he made an assist. It's not the players but the play I try to scrutinize.

- What do you think about Pavlyuchenko's form?.
- Roma beefed up attack and scored, he could have scored even more. He played aggressively, did just what I asked him to do. You can see a player's form in the gym, where computers and sensors will tell you how fit a player is. Matches are simply extras to the training process.

- Did the international games bring you any difficulties?
- Players' departure always brings troubles. The biggest of them is the difference in conditions when they return. They come back from other parts of the world: different time zones, different altitudes, adaptation and so on. We had to organize the training process the way that would level their conditions. As a result, every player had an individual recovery plan. It was pretty difficult, and we had to put some effort in it. It's good that the club has everything to allow every player train in individual conditions. To be honest, it was the first time I came accross such highly individual approach. It looks like we did it, although I was anxious a little bit because everybody arrives in different form and with different vision of the play.
