Cherevchenko: We are going to Ufa for victory

On his birthday, Lokomotiv head coach Igor Cherevchenko met with the media for questions, prior to the practice session at Bakovka.

- How is the preparation for the game in Ufa going?

- We are training as usual. After the match against Terek, we had a full week cycle. We have analyzed the encounter with them and have drawn certain conclusions. Next fixture will show whether they were right. We are going to Ufa for victory.

- Lokomotiv have not yet recorded a single win over Ufa in the Russian Championship.

- We have met only twice. We beat them in a Cup match. Why not do it now?

- What do you remember about that duel?

- There was thick fog - so dense it took us some five minutes to figure out who scored. We could not even see who sat at the other end of our bench.

- What is your opinion of Miranchuk’s performance?

- Our rivals are now keeping a close eye on him and tend to man-mark him tightly. But I am sure, Alexey can deal with that.

- Is Maicon your new joker?

- He is most versatile. He can cut into either wing, play in the centre forward position and as second striker.

- Can Kolomeytsev move up front and play as attacking midfielder?

- Why not? We try our players on different positions during practices.

- After the triumph over Krylia Sovetov Dmitriy Alenichev threw a barbeque party for Spartak. Do you ever do anything like that at the club?

- Of course, we do. About two weeks ago, for instance, after the workouts we wined and dined here at Bakhovka. Who prepared the food? Our cooks did.

- It is your first birthday in the capacity of the head coach. Did you celebrate before the same way as now?

Today there will be no feasting, positive. Maybe after Ufa. My previous birthdays I spent away at a camp or at the training centre. Last year on August 21 we were in Cyprus playing against Apollon.
