A show without a happy ending. Lokomotiv loses to Bayern

All the players who missed the last few matches have recovered in time for the game against Bayern. Vlad Ignatiev returned to the starting lineup. Magkeev was also supposed to start, but Stas got injured during the warm-up, and Kulikov had to replace him in the starting eleven.

At the same time, Bayern was without Alphonso Davies for this game, as he got injured in the last match. Nevertheless, Gnabry returned to the squad, after his for for coronavirus turned out to be negative.

Lokomotiv could have scored in the first attack. Bayern defenders tried to create an offside position, but made a mistake, leaving Smolov and Ze Luis unattended in the penalty area. Miranchuk delivered the cross into the penalty area, but Fedor struck the ball with his head straight into the hands of Neuer.

After this moment Bayern mobilized, and six minutes later Lewandowski almost opened the score - cross from the corner and Robert hit the ball from the close range, but the ball went inches from the bar.

The guests did not give up their attempts to unlock our defence with crosses from the wing and achieved their goal in the 14th minute. Tolisso passed the ball to the wing, Pavar delivered the ball to the centre of the penalty area, where Goretzka headed the ball into the back of the net.

Ten minutes later, a similar combination almost ended with the second goal, but this time, after Pavar's pass, Coman opened in the penalty area and shot near the post.

At the end of the half, Lokomotiv pushed the game away from their goal and created several good attacks. In one of these attacks, Kulikov attempted a shot from distance and Neuer had to make a save. Nevertheless, the situation got worse closer to the half time - Corluka got injured in the last minute of the half.

Bayern dominated the start of the second half and created two very dangerous chances. First Javi Martinez shot over the crossbar, then Rajkovic blocked Kimmich's strike from five meters. And in the 64th minute it seemed that the game was decided - Kulikov fouled Lewandowski in the penalty area and the referee pointed to the spot. However, after watching the replay, the referee cancelled the goal due to an offside in the early stage of the attack.

And then Lokomotiv got down to business! In the 70th minute, Ze Luís raced down the wing and made a low cross to the near post, where Miranchuk struck the ball into the net.

After that, Bayern opened up, Lokomotiv found free zones and created a few chances that they should have scored. In the 77th minute, Ze Luis was almost one on one with Neuer, but his shot went just wide. And a minute later, Anton also jumped one on one with the keeper, but his strike was blocked by the defender and Neuer dealt with the ball well.

With Lokomotiv pressing for a second goal, Kimmich picked up the ball on the edge of the box and with his back to the goal, flicked it up, pivoted and volleyed in the winner.

Our team attacked until the last seconds, even Guilherme came into the penalty area for the last corner of the game, but Lokomotiv failed to score the equaliser. Lokomotiv will face Sochi on Saturday and host Atletico on Tuesday.
