Leonid Kuchuk: "The game was fun, despite we were outnumbered"
In the post-game press-conference, Lokomotiv's manager Leonid Kuchuk said the Railwaymen's main objective was not to get outplayed by Zenit.
– Our objective was not to get outplayed by Zenit, not to give away a single foot of the pitch. We have only ourselves to blame for the conceded goals. It was obvious that Zenit love rapid attacks but in one episode we lost the ball on ghe left wing, then our player was sent off. In a game against a team that is strong in ball possession, this often becomes fatal.
As for the second goal, we studied this situation at the theory lessons: when one-on-one, Danny always goes to the right, never to the left, and always passes with the right foot. But by the end of the game the guys got tired, they had to play 10 against 11, and just didn't manage to shadow him. Nevertheless, I think even in that unequal situation we got ourselves in, the game was fun.
