White Glove For Rostov
Lokomotiv secure a win over Rostov due to a last-minute winner by Eder.
The game in Rostov was a 5th in just 14 days for Lokomotiv. In a Cup clash against Krylya Sovetov the team played for 120 minutes, returned to Moscow and took a flight to the south of Russia in about 24 hours. Many experts expressed doubts about the fitness of our boys.
Anyway, both teams offered high pace in the first half, while play itself was dull. The home side kept crossing to its striker Bukharov but Guilherme cleared every time.
In their turn, Lokomotiv kept control of the ball on their third but had problems with playing it forward. As a result, only on 44 minutes did Fernandes manage to produce the one and only attempt in the first half, but Pesyakov had no problem saving it.
In half-time, Lokomotiv changed Mykhalyk for Anton Miranchuk, the formation changed to the one with four defenders and this brought more action. On 61 minutes Bukharov made a first-touch attempt at the far corner but Guilherme parried it.
The Railroaders responded with an attempt by Tarasov after a corner and another one by Anton Miranchuk who rolled the ball along the goal line but found no finisher.
Ten minutes later, Alexey Miranchuk, Farfan and Fernandes ran on a counter that could have been amazing be it not for Manu's unlucky dribbling attembpt.
Finally, when it looked the game would end nil-nil, Lokomotiv ran to the last attack on 94 minutes - and Eder was there to finish it. The Potuguese immediately put on his famous white glove.
Lokomotiv have secured the first victory in September and are now standing second on the table.
