Back To Work From Vacation!

In preparation for the training and instruction camp, the first party of Loko’s main team players has done the medical checks today. The club's Press Service followed the squad’s return from vacation.

Guys start showing up at the Med and Rehab centre around eight o’clock, well before the set time. When asked why, they answered simply: because of the early morning rush hour – when getting stuck in a jam is worse than lack of sleep.

Finally recovered from his injury, Marques Maicon is the first to see his form. “I spent the entire holiday in Moscow, I did not go to Brazil, – initially Maicon doesn’t sound particularly happy. – It is all because of the injury sustained in February. I was out for a long time and had to get fit again before the camp. In May and June I visited Cherkizovo: Loko’s own medical facilities have all the necessary equipment. And I am ready to go back to work along with the other guys tomorrow! This really makes me glad,” – at this point the Brazilian international cracks a smile, at last.

Right after Maicon, Dmitriy Tarasov comes for the medicals together with Alan Kasaev. Full of wit between themselves, the lads look refreshed and well-rested. “Are they going to check my teeth as well? – Dmitriy asks the team-mate in jest. – For I’ve got a whole new set!” This is what we call football humour!

Aside from the holiday, the talk goes about the European Championship, of course. “Did you see the Italians? Man, they are cosmic! I liked them so much!” – Vitaliy Denisov comes along with his opinion.

“And how about the accident involving Corluka? – a nurse joins in. ­– They bashed his head! He was bleeding! So awful!” Others reassure the nurse that, although the slash was deep, it won’t hamper Vedran from continuing in the tournament.

Throughout the examination boys keep up their friendly banter. “Wow, Rifat! Your new photos on Instagram: those toned muscles, your abs! How did you do that?” – Denisov grills his junior team-mate.

In the meanwhile Alexander Kolomeytsev depicts the joys of vacationing with the family. “I, my wife and daughter went to the Crete. It was so quiet and serene. We stayed at a family hotel. Beaches over there are mostly rocky, but we were lucky – ours was sandy. Only the sun heated the sand so much you could not step on it! The last day was overcast – then the sand cooled down. We all had a good rest, so now we can take full advantage of practice at the camp!”

The club’s doctor Nikita Karlitskiy, who was supervising the medicals, thinks the same as our midfielder:

– It is very important that they arrive from holiday in good mood. I am sure a positive frame of mind makes coping with the loads easier. It was an ordinary check-up involving various routine examinations and scans. Everyone is fine as we see it. Tomorrow the team get to practice.
