Football club Lokomotiv signed a contract with defender Igor Smolnikov. The agreement with the player is until the end of the season.
Smolnikov was born on August 8, 1988 in Kamensk-Uralsky. He is a graduate of our Lokomotiv Academy. He began his professional career at Torpedo, then returned to the "railroads". After that, Igor played for many Russian clubs: Ural, Chita, Zhemchuzhina-Sochi, Rostov, Krasnodar, Zenit and Arsenal. In total, there are 452 matches in the career of a football player, in which he scored 19 goals.
In the last season, Smolnikov played for Torpedo, took part in 21 matches and scored one goal.
The defender was a part of the Russian national team matches for 30 times.
Smolnikov is a three-time champion of Russia, a two-time Cup winner and a two-time winner of the country's Super Cup.
Igor will play for Lokomotiv with the 8th number.
