Pejcinovic: ‘It was important not to lose at home’

Lokomotiv defender Nemanja Pejcinovic has commented on the game against Kuban exclusively for the club’s Facebook page.

– It was hard to find the emotional motivation for this match. We spent it all in Astrakhan when we won the Cup. Tonight we weren’t able to win, but we didn’t lose either, even despite the ejection. I think we have been better today: we had good chances but we failed to capitalize on them. It would be fair to say that it wasn’t Kuban who scored against us, it was we who scored an own goal. It’s good we managed to equalize. We couldn’t afford to lose because we were playing in front of the fans. Next season we have to be better.

– What were the emotions when the team went to the South Stand?

– It’s fantastic! In Astrakhan we ran to the fans as soon as we had the Cup. I repeat, we discharged all our emotions in that Final game, but the Cup was important to all of us. Those were very bright emotions. That was the Victory.
