Miranchuk: We had to score in the first half
Lokomotiv midfielder Aleksey Miranchuk spoke about the 1:2 loss to Rostov during Gameweek 27 of the Russian Premier League.
- What is so special about FC Rostov?
- There is nothing special about them. Rostov just drop back and play on counters.
- Did you anticipate Rostov would look so lively early on?
- We had been warned to be very alert in the opening 15 minutes and expect an intense game from Rostov. Following the goal, we took matters into our hands. We had to score in the first half. It would have been easier afterwards.
- The second goal was scored against you off a deflection…
- Words fail me. Deflected balls, own goals, as ill luck would have it.
- How does it feel with the downturn in the League run-in?
- It has proved to be a tense season, full of emotions. But we will pick ourselves up in search of winning the remaining fixtures – for ourselves and for the sake of the fans.
