Miranchuk: We could have put in a trifle more effort but we didn’t and were punished

Lokomotiv midfielder Aleksey Miranchuk comments on the game against Juventus (1:2) in Round 3 of the group stage of the Champions League.

- How did you score the first goal?

- Just a game episode. I caught an opponent moving in an opposite direction, and made a pass. I thought Joao would play a one-two but he had a go instead and the ball bounced back to me, I only needed to make no mistake.

- Would you agree Lokomotiv were good against Juventus?

- Yes, we scored a goal. But their passing skills in front of the goal area are perfect, they play one touch, their performance is top-notch. We were worn out at the end of the game. We could have put in just a trifle more effort but we didn’t and were punished. It’s just very difficult physically. We had been defending for the most part of the match. We should have been more concentrated, we had chances and we should have used them more wisely.

- Is Aleksey Miranchuk ready to play in Europe?

- I like playing against such teams. It wasn’t easy but it was interesting.
