Kolomeytsev: We were able to gel!

Lokomotiv midfielder Alexander Kolomeytsev has paid a visit to #NasheCherkizovoLIVE to talk about the game against Krasnodar (2:1).

- What was your objective of the game?

- To cover midfield and help the defensive midfielders to cut as many passes as possible. But I tried to assist in the attacks, too.

- Krasnodar fielded a lot of players in the middle.

- They have always loved doing this. They like short and middle passes. We were ready for it.

- This is our first victory at home. Did you feel pressure before the game because there had been none?

- No. On the contrary, we wanted to beat a principal and strong opponent at home.

- Did you panic after the goal you conceded?

- No. We had the initiative and understood we had everything to equalize and win. That’s how it happened, at the end.

- We now stand second in the table. Do you think CSKA can lose points?

- They can get exhausted at some point, and stumble. They have a packed schedule. I think they can lose points.

- Getting back to Lokomotiv, how did they manage to prepare the team for the competition in such a short time?

- We have team spirit that the coaches created. We were able to unite and believe in each other. We were able to gel. When it happens you feel you can win. It gives you power!

- A couple of words about the national team.

- We talk about it with a smile. There’s been a lot of jokes about it. Me in the national team? My play is not good enough yet to get a call-up.
