Missed penalties, disallowed goals and Krychowiak’s sending off. Lokomotiv lost to Rotor
Lokomotiv played with Rotor between two Champions League games. On Wednesday our team earned one point in Austria, while on Tuesday they will host Bayern Munich. Therefore due to heavy fixture list rotation was inevitable.
Lokomotiv started the game with Lisakovich and Eder upfront, Kamano and Rybchinsky on the wings. At the same time, Miranchuk and Smolov remained on the bench. In addition, Magkeev and Rajkovic, who missed the last matches due to illness, were included in the squad.
The teams started the game very slowly. The first chance in the game came from a set piece - Murilo with a powerful header after a corner, but Condric managed to save it.
The next moment in the game came in 18th minute - Flamarion was fouled in the penalty area and referee pointed to the spot. The Brazilian himself volunteered to take the penalty kick - Guilherme saved the shot, but Flamarion was the first on the rebound and put the ball past the keeper.
The goal angered Lokomotiv. Our team took control of the ball, rushed into attack and scored ten minutes later. Lisakovich dribbled past a few players in the penalty area and shot. The goalkeeper saved the ball, but Rybchinsky was the first on the rebound and finished his chance, scoring his first goal for the main team.
Lokomotiv started the second half well and created a number of dangerous chances. First, Lisakovich shot went near the post, then Kamano tried to curl the ball into the far corner from the edge of the box, but the ball went half a meter off the target. The guests were able to defend and scored a completely illogical goal. Ponce, who came on as a substitute a minute earlier, lobbed the ball behind Guilherme from the edge of the box - Rotor took the lead.
After the goal, teams played without the center of the field. Lokomotiv went forward with the whole team and pushed Rotor into the penalty area, while guests tried to respond with counter attacks. In one of them only Zhivoglyadov's quickness saved our team from a goal.
The last minutes turned out to be hectic. In the 83rd minute, the ball touched Kvirkvelia’s hand in the penalty area - after watching the replay, the referee awarded a penalty kick to Lokomotiv, nevertheless Miranchuk hit the post.
In one of the following attacks, Kozhemyakin got the ball after a rebound and hammered it into the net. After watching the replay the referee disallowed the goal, as one of the Rotor players was in passive offside position. Lokomotiv immediately organized another attack and scored the equaliser - Zhivoglyadov crossed the ball into the box and Krychowiak’s header went into the back of the net. After watching the replay, the referee disallowed the goal again, as Eder was in passive offside position.
And in the 95th minute, Krychowiak got sent off. The opponent attempted a tough tackle on Grzegorz and the referee did not pay attention to it. When Grzegorz tried to argue with the referee, he immediately showed him the second yellow card.
Rotor ended Lokomotiv’s four match winning run in the league and got their first win of the season. On Tuesday our team will face Bayern in the Champions League.
