Lokomotiv Humiliated Tom FC

Lokomotiv put six past Tom in the encounter which took place during Gameweek 16 of Russian Football Championship.

Lokomotiv were set to begin the Russian League’s second leg with an away fixture, yet we played the game at home. It was moved from Tomsk to Moscow for weather issues. “Switching the venue was the right decision. Today the outside temperature is the same in both cities, but they had up to minus 25 degrees Celsius in Tomsk,” – said Yuiry Syomin before the match.

The first half belonged to the official ‘home’ side. And be it not for Guilherme, they would have surely driven in an opener through Bordachev who picked up a cross from the wing. Our goalkeeper’s prompt lunge saved the team, and the Siberians’ follow-up attempt off the rebound hit the post. Lokomotiv raised their game shortly before half-time whistle. Miranchuk dodged past two defenders to place a shot from an acute angle – Solosin dived for the ball in the nick of time to deny Aleksey.

All would be well, if injuries did not get in the Railwaymen’s way. Mere 27 minutes into play, Kasaev was replaced with Ignatiev. The next one to go off was Mykhalyk - after 45 minutes Shishkin stepped in for Taras. Thus, Syomin had to use two substitutions before the restart. Three minutes into the second half, things got even worse for Lokomotiv as Bicfalvi opened the score.

The goal egged the Railwaymen, though. On 52 minutes we witnessed the equalizer from Kolomeytsev. On 63 minutes Kasiyan received his second yellow card and was sent off. After that Tom fell apart. Within the space of 20 minutes Lokomotiv slotted home five times.
Manuel Fernandes was shining that night: he scored the clinching goal and assisted in three more. Ignatiev had a wonderful second half, scoring one goal and setting up another. Igor Denisov added a blinder to his name when he placed the first-touch screamer into the top corner of Tom’s net. Moments off the bench, Galadzhan produced an assist - his first achievement with the main team. Kolomeytsev bagged a brace.

6:1 – the biggest win for Loko in the current campaign! This Sunday the Railwaymen are scheduled to play the closing match against Terek.
