Syomin: First games are always difficult
Lokomotiv head coach Yuriy Syomin comments on the game against Copenhagen (0:0) in the first leg of the Europa League group stage.
- First games are always difficult, especially away games. Copenhagen were named the favourites in the game, andthe fixture was good and tense. One point is an okay result.
- How did you like Anton Miranchuk and Eder who appeared in the second half?
- In terms of attacking actions, the second half was better. We needed freshmen in the attacking third, so we fielded Miranchuk and Eder. It's too early to say anything about the Portuguese, he joined us just recently and has made just a couple of appearances. He needs time, and he will help us.
- Can Copenhagen be compared with any club of the Russian Premier League?
- It is a compact team, they are good in set pieces and tackles. In the first half they were better than Lokomotiv in terms of tackling, that's why we had no advantage.
- Was it the most difficult game in the group?
- It was, but who knows what the next five games will be like.
- What do you need to fix before the next fixture with Copenhagen?
- We are going to prepare for the game against Amkar. When the time comes, we will remember this game and fix the mistakes.
- Are the team going to stand up to this fast tempo?
- The tempo is fast, indeed. But the European teams play like this, this means we have to cope with it too. It is only important there are no injuries.
