Loko Thrash Terek
Lokomotiv juniors entertained Terek on Gameweek 5 of the Russian Championship.
The long-anticipated win in the previous round filled our footballers with confidence and positive emotions. The guys brimmed with enthusiasm during training sessions and followed them up in a gym on their own accord. Euro U-19 runners-up Sergey Makarov, Dmitriy Barinov and Rifat Zhemaletdinov are finally in form again. Rifat has been invited to work with the main squad. Lokomotiv newcomer Ilya Rubtsov already has a goal to his name.
From the outset, the Railwaymen pushed Terek back to their own goal and opened the score as soon as the 16th minute Samokhvalov won the aerial struggle for the ball served by Solovyov from a corner kick. Eight minutes on, Lokomotiv doubled the lead after Rubtsov finished off Galanin’s lobbed pass from the right wing. Two goals up, Lokomotiv took back and switched to position attacks. However, this made no big difference to Terek.
In the second half the visitors tried to turn the game around. Shaipov almost drove it home but the cross bar was on our side. However, Kipiani stood behind Lokomotiv's winning bid in one of the following attacks. Nika moved from left to the centre and fired into an upper corner. Soon his teammate Galadzhan made the score indecent. Lokomotiv rack up three points with a convincing victory.
