Kipiani: ‘Things Are Going To Improve Now’
Youth team striker Nikolay Kipiani has summarized the game against Torpedo that Lokomotiv won 5:2.
- We wanted to restore the play that we used to demonstrate early in the season. We wanted to score many goals that we had been failing to do recently. Late in the second half we relaxed, and in half-time the coach told us we had to go back and continue scoring to demonstrate our strength.
- You were up 3-0 but conceded twice and nearly allowed the opponents to get back into the game. Why?
- We thought the game was done and relaxed. Torpedo just took their chances.
- What’s your take on the episode when the referee couldn’t decide whether to award or deny a goal?
- The goal was legal, but the referee shouldn’t behave like that. He started running around, changing his mind. Then somebody from the stands shouted the goal was legal, and he awarded it.
- Are Torpedo a special motivation for you?
- Of course. They are Torpedo. Besides, we couldn’t win for a long time and wanted to redeem ourselves in front of our supporters. I hope that things are going to improve now.
