Miranchuk’s Hat-Trick Helps Juniors Whitewash Amkar
Lokomotiv scored seven goals against Amkar in Gameweek 11 of Russian U-21 football championship.
Lokomotiv selection for the match with Amkar was not the best one, with Nikolay Kipiani and Sergey Makarov missing from the list, and Rifat Zhemaletdinov, Ivan Galanin and Georgiy Makhatadze benched. Changes were enough.
Despite that, Lokomotiv did not take time to gel, but went ahead right off, scoring an opener. The goal was marked by Artyom Galadzhan - the man who would grab a brace halfway through the first half. After that, balls kept flying into Amkar’s net at some unreal interval.
There was Anisimov’s effective one-on-one with the keeper, and Miranchuk belting the ball into the far corner. The latter would also score from a penalty further on. Barinov could have shot home from the spot, too, but Amkar’s goalkeeper got the ball sent into a top corner. To make things worse, on 24 minutes Guseynov was sent off and left the visiting team understaffed.
Following the victory over Krylya two rounds earlier, our team did mention that if we could improve finishing, there would be many goals. In the first half against Amkar five out of six chances created by Lokomotiv proved effective.
The other 45 minutes were a mere formality. The two sides virtually overhauled their squads fielding almost all subs. However, it did not save Amkar from the six goal as Miranchuk secured a hat-trick. With ten minutes left to play, Lysov tipped off the score-line - 7:0. Loko youth have bagged their biggest win in the season so far.
