Igor Cherevchenko: "I asked the players to pass the ball faster"
After the final whistle sealed Lokomotiv's victory over Amkar 3:1, the Railwaymen's acting head coach Igor Cherevchenko told the post-match press-conference the recommendations he gave the players in half-time helped crack the visitors tight defence.
- In the first half, Amkar made it hard for us to attack, - said Cherevchenko. - Despite we had thoroughly analyzed their style of play we still couldn't score. In half-time I asked the players to speed up and pass the ball faster. We bet on set pieces and wing crosses, and wanted to receive the ball between Amkar's lines.
- Why didn't Guilherme and Pavlyuchenko play?
- Guilherme fell victim to the foreign players regulation, while Pav has experienced a back injury and has to recover.
