Aleksandr Sheshukov: "I'm Joining Lokomotiv Tomorrow"
In an interview with the club's press-service, Lokomotiv's newbie Aleksandr Sheshukov said the Railwaymen's proposal came out of the blue but he's ready to come out and play tomorrow.
- It all happened so fast and unexpectedly, - said Aleksandr. - I was at the training camp with Rostov and on the eve before the friendly against Victoria Plzen one of the managers came up to me and said Lokomotiv want to sign me right away. It wasn't easy to make up my mind because I felt responsibility for Rostov who are playing both in the Cup and the regular championship. But you know, when Lokomotiv are asking you yes or no you don't say no. It's a club with traditions and their high level is well-known so I had to accept the challenge however hard it was.
- Do you realize the responsibility is high - you have to fill in for Tarasov and Tigorev who are out due to injuries?
- Of course I do. Diarra is also sidelined for the first game, but I shouldn't concentrate on this - just gotta come out and do my job.
- What's your form now?
- I've been to two full-scale camps with Rostov and worked hard. Tomorrow I'm arriving in Spain and will see how the rest of the team are. You know, every coach has his own vision. Miodrag Bozovic plans that the hardest camp is the last one. But generally I'm okay and ready to work.
- Tomorrow Lokomotiv are playing two friendlies and supposedly Leonid Kuchuk will let everybody play. Do you count on a chance?
- I'm arriving in Spain at 11 a.m. so by the evening I must be ready to play. The rest depends on the coach.
- Do you feel jumpy that Lokomotiv are struggling for the top standing in the table and the spring is when the decisive games will take place?
- Well I am a bit jittery, of course, but it's natural. If a player is dead calm then he's done and it's time to look for new career opportunities. You can be anxious outside the pitch but with the starting whistle the anxiety must go.
