The youth team defeated Saturn
In Gameweek 5 of the Russian Youth League Lokomotiv hosted Saturn. A little earlier our rivals CSKA and Zenit both got three points and temporarily took over Lokomotiv’s first spot, so it was necessary to win this game.
Lokomotiv seized the advantage from the very first minutes and practically did not let their opponents leave their half of the pitch throughout the match. But, to open the score, our team lacked precision in finishing. In the fifth minute Borisenko had a good shot from a free-kick - the goalkeeper read the episode and saved the ball. In the middle of the half, Kasimov sent the ball over the crossbar after a cross from the wing.
In the last attack of the first half, Lokomotiv should have got a penalty after the ball touched Motovilov’s hand in the penalty box - the referee ignored the episode.
In the second half, Lokomotiv continued to dominate and attack the opponent’s goal and only seven minutes before the end, the efforts paid off. Kasimov made a great cross to the far post from a free kick and Morozov finished the chance perfectly.
Maxim Petrov's red card darkened the mood at the end of the game. Max got his second yellow card in the 95th minute and will now miss the derby against CSKA on October 17.
