Lokomotiv and Rostov played to 0-0 draw

Lokomotiv and Rostov were closing the Gameweek 7 of the Russian Premier League. Before the game the hosts had a series of three matches without defeat, while Lokomotiv had four matches without victories. However, the head-to-head statistics were on Lokomotiv’s side - one defeat in the last eight away games and four victories over Rostov in a row.

Grzegorz Krychowiak remained on the bench. Kulikov and Magkeev formed a partnership in midfield, Miranchuk and Smolov played upfront, Kamano and Rybchinskiy took their places on the wings, Zhivoglyadov started the game instead of Ignatjev.

The first half was pretty even, at low speeds and practically without chances. In the 12th minute, Smolov ran inside the penalty area and shot - the ball hit the defender. Rybchinskiy was first on the rebound, but his shot was too weak.

Rostov responded with a counter attack: Eremenko found Shomurodov inside the penalty area, but he made the wrong decision and he lost the ball.

The next moment Lokomotiv created in the middle of the first half. Rybchinskiy ran into the penalty area from the right wing and tried to put the ball into the far corner - the ball went wide. After that, Rostov was the better team for the rest of the half.

The second half turned out to be even less eventful. The teams often came close to the penalty area, but at the end could not create anything interesting. Pesjakov had nothing to do for 45 minutes, while Guilherme had some work at the beginning and at end of the half. Immediately after the break, Ionov tried to lob Guilherme - the keeper was reliable and pushed the ball for a corner. A few minutes before the end, Glebov tested Guilherme with a powerful shot from distance - our goalkeeper pulled a good save.

In the course of the second half, the coaching staff brought Krychowiak, Lisakovich, Ignatjev and Eder into the fight, however, they did not have any significantly impact on the final result - 0:0.
