Mishatkin: We had to capitalize on the domination
Youth team’s head coach Maxim Mishatkin talks about the draw against Akhmat (0:0) in Gameweek 21 of the Russian Premier League.
- When we enjoy such total domination it must be converted into goals. If we play well and score - it’s one thing. If we play well and don’t score - I have questions.
- Why did the opportunities come so late into the game?
- In the first half we stripped the opponents of the ball and exhausted them. We had opportunities late into the first half, in the second half we made them make mistakes - they moved around without the ball and had to tackle. We had to score, had to scramble the ball over the line. Unfortunately, we didn’t succeed.
- Did this game resemble the first-leg match?
- They were different. Back then we had different issues.
- It looks like the stronger is the opponent, the better we play.
- There are good games, there are bad games. A strong opponent tries to attack, and chances arise. But when a team pulls all men behind the circle even grown-ups have problems. We had opportunities but sometimes we were too hasty, sometimes mistimed passes. It’s all about the players’ individual growth.
