Anton’s Goal And Assist, Six Goals In Game Against Steaua. Loko’s First Friendly At Training Camp
Six days after the start of the first training camp Lokomotiv took it to the pitch for the first friendly, The coaches divided the team into two, each squad had 45 minutes of playing time. In the first half Team Two was practicing at the neighbouring field.
Steaua are restarting the season in early February. They began the camp a week earlier and had already had two friendlies - against Basel (1:0) and Karlsruher (1:0). Our opponents were better prepared but didn't field their strongest lineup, leaving their top scorer Florinel Koman on the bench, for one.
Steaua opened the score. Barinov handplayed several metres outside the box, Manea took a free kick, the ball ricocheted into the net. Lokomotiv leveled in just 11 minutes through the brothers - Alexey passed into the box to Anton who kicked it home first-touch.
The Romanians took the lead again in two minutes. Momcilovic was left alone in the box, and the attacker capitalized on the opportunity.
Lokomotiv equalised fast through Barinov and the brothers. Alexey crossed to Anton who passed the ball on to Barinov who sent it into the untended goal
But Steaua managed to regain the lead again before the break. Krychowiak fouled in the area and the Romanians were awarded a penalty. Manea made no mistake.
The second half was less eventful but more successful for Lokomotiv. With ten new players on the field it was only Solomon Kverkvelia who played fill time
The Romanians enjoyed more possession in the opening minutes of the second half, kept disturbing Kochenkov but missed a counterattack. Kolomeytsev moved the ball to the left flank from where Lysov crossed it to the centre of the area. It took Zhemaletdinov little effort to fox the keeper.
Lokomotiv had two dead chances to win the game but wasted both. First it was Fyodor Smolov who earned a penalty on 73 minutes but failed to convert it into a goal. Later, on 84 minutes, Rybchinskiy sent the ball wide from the edge of the goal area.
The Romanians had several good opportunities but Kochenkov was reliable and helped secure a draw.
On January 23rd we’re taking on Osijek in another friendly.
