Lokomotiv Thrash Dynamo

Lokomotiv Thrash Dynamo

Lokomotiv thrash Dynamo in Gameweek 12 of the Russian Premier League and have improved their runners-up position.

The clash with Dynamo started with a moment of silence. On September 28th, Lokomotiv defender from the 90-s Alexey Arifullin passed away. He spent 11 seasons at Lokomotiv, and made 287 appearances.

As soon as on 12 minutes Dynamo lost one of its key players Samba Sou. The midfielder got injured and was forced to leave the pitch, and Dynamo's play crashed without its leader. Lokomotiv dominated midfield and soon set up an effective attack. Anton Miranchuk carried the ball to the arc and had a go from there, Shunin parried but Fernandes was there with a follow-up strike and drove it home.

Ten minutes later Lokomotiv doubled the lead. Alexey Miranchuk gathered four players around him who lost sight of Eder behind their backs. The striker took the ball and rolled it past Shunin from about five metres.

The second half brought no change. Lokomotiv claimed the ball immediately denying Dynamo a chance for an early goal, and soon scored again. Anton Miranchuk set up for his brother who made no mistake.

The visitors wasted their most promising opportunity on 66 minutes. Lutsenko found himself one-on-one with Guilherme and shot but the Brazilian won the duel. Lokomotiv had even more chances. Anton Miranchuk could have scored off an amazing pass by Eder but missed the empty goal from five metres.

Lokomotiv steams past Dynamo keeping a third clean sheet in a row and improve as runners-up. Krasnodar and CSKA drag five points behind.
