Victory Over Anji
Lokomotiv have defeated Anji in the Russian Youth Championship and are in the race for bronze.
Lokomotiv took no time for the warm-up. On just 4 minutes Roman Tugarev shook off his opponents on the wing, centered and had an effective go at the goal. Then came a series of long-range attempts from both sides which, however, were far from promising. For some time, Anji managed to grab the initiative but still it was Lokomotiv who created chances at the opposition's goal in the first half.
In the 57th minute Roman Tugarev ran down the whole field on the wing with the ball and assisted to Artyom Galadzhan who sent it into the empty net.
Just three minutes later Artyom had a fat chance to score a brace but sent the ball too high from just 15 metres. After that the game soothed down and the coaches started making substitutions. Anji's Magomedov who just had just come on scored a goal making Loko's supporters a bit nervous.
This goal pushed Anji forward and Loko's keeper Kovalyov had some work to do but none of the attacks resulted in a leveler.
After the defeats to CSKA and Rubin Lokomotiv are back on the winning track and are in the race for the bronze medals of the championship.
