Heading into Break with Win!
Lokomotiv’s last tie of the year 2016 was with Terek. The Railwaymen approached their Gameweek 17 fixture in a superb mood. On Thursday our squad mauled FC Tom with a humiliating score of six to one.
The Red-Greens came out equally well during the first half of the match-up with Terek. They enjoyed the bulk of possession, pressured the rivals and orchestrated a few promising attacks. One of them ended up with a goal scored by Miranchuk who finished off Maicon’s floated ball at the near post.
The only thing that overshadowed our first half was the injury suffered by Ignatiev. Vladislav had put in a great shift for Loko in the previous encounter with the Tom side and was doing marvellously against Terek but was unfortunately forced off the field after 38 minutes.
In the second half Loko played a bit more sluggishly trying to stifle Terek and waiting for them to make a mistake. And it came 15 minutes to the final whistle, when the team from Grozny took a goal kick and erred: a defender dallied on the ball losing it to Fernandes. Manu just chipped the keeper in style for 2:0.
Lokomotiv win for the second time in the row and finish the year on a positive note.
