Last Bounce Game Ends in a Draw
Lokomotiv drew tie in the second pre-season friendly of the Austrian camp, in which we entertained Viktoria FC.
Trainings camps are the time of communication and mutual assistance for football teams. On the eve of the fixture managers of the Czech club got in touch with Lokomotiv and asked to move the kick-off by two hours. The Czech side were planning to go back home right after the match on the club’s bus, so they wanted to shorten the night-time trip. The wish was granted.
Being slightly injured, Maicon was omitted from the team’s sheet. Otherwise, preparation for the scrimmage went as usual.
Viktoria Plzen’s goals for the new campaign are the Champions League group stage and the national title. Another thing, which speaks for our foe’s quality, is that some ten names on their roster are regular candidates for the Czech Republic and Slovakia squads.
The first half demonstrated that both sides’ pre-season work had been fundamental and hard. At turgid pace they created but a few chances. There was Aleksander Samedov’s effort from around ten meters distance, worthy of notice, and the solid defensive display from Pejcinovic and Corluka. Guilherme remained virtually untested.
The second half was exactly the same. The teams’ performances were also affected by very hot weather. The referee even stopped the game in the middle of the half to let everyone drink water. The game witnessed two failed opportunities – one by Lokomotiv and the other by Viktoria. There came the skied attempt by Kovarik shooting from several meters. A few minutes to the end, Kozacik saved shot by Samedov.
The last bounce game of Lokomotiv’s training camp ended in a goalless draw. In a few days the team are due to return to Moscow.
