Igor Cherevchenko: Conversion rate was poor

Lokomtotiv head coach Igor Cherevchenko shares his take on the outcome of the match against Kuban (0:1) on Gameweek 28 of the ROSGOSSTRAKH Russian Football Championship.

- This was the starting debut for Rifat Zhemaletdinov, and Manuel Fernandes returned to the first eleven after quite a while…

- Rifat looked good during practices, so we deployed him. And it was an excellent debut.

- Did you sub off Pejcinovic because of his injury or for tactical reasons?

- Nemanja’s hurt his ankle. We will have to run fitness tests on him.

- The 90th minute of play witnessed the tricky situation involving Henty. Did it call for penalty?

- I did not see it. Why ask? I do not comment decisions of the refs.

- Are you satisfied with the team’s output?

- The output was there, yes, and the commitment to win… Sometimes, it is insufficient. The conversion rate was poor.

- Are you happy with how the game played out?

- How can I be happy with the game when we lose the match? We have issues to address – me and the team.

- Skuletic played the first 45 minutes. For the second half you fielded Henty. Who did you like better?

- It is hard to say… If strikers fail to score goals, something is not right.
