Youth Team’s First Win
Lokomotiv’s youth team have beaten Ural on Gameweek 4 of the Russian Youth Championship.
The game took place in the city of Sysert about 50 kilometres off Yekaterinburg. This didn’t scare off dozens of the Lokomotiv fans who covered the distance to support their favourites.
In the middle of the first half Lokomotiv created their first chance. Barinov had a go at the goal but Ural’s goalkeeper Zharikov parried the ball which bounced off the post back into the field. That didn’t satisfy Dmitriy and before half-time he again fired a long-range shot at the goal, this time effectively, sending the ball into the top corner.
The break was a prize-giving time. A young female fan who came to watch football first time in her life, accompanied by her father, was given a Lokomotiv T-shirt.
The second half started at a moderate pace but the substitutions increased the tempo and it brought fruit. In the first episode, Samokhvalov finished off a cross from a corner. Later, Rubtsov sent the ball home from a long range and had the first goal to his name at Lokomotiv.
Ural could escape humiliation with a late goal. Lokomotiv’s youth team have secured their first victory this season.
